You know the cursing crafter needs to make an appearance in an FBomb Friday installment!
You will see where my FBomb comes in further down in the post.
I know you're tired of it.
Aren't you?
I am.
Tired of what?
The never ending projects.
The thing is, I'm just so dang proud of myself, I have to show em off. Not because they look really nice, but because I set out to do it, and I did it.
Here are 3 more projects I finished.
Here is the before picture of my bar stools. I can't find a better one and I could swear I actually took a picture before I re-did em, but I can't find it.
So....
Since I painted all of my other dining room furniture black, I decided these should be black too. And I may as well re-upholster them while I'm at it.
"May as well." <--- I hate those 3 words. They usually get me into trouble.
Here they are now...
Basically I just painted the legs black and then found some batting and stretched it around the seat cushion and stapled it. Then I stretched the fabric I wanted over that and stapled it too.
I used a staple gun. Staple guns frighten me.
Then I wanted to re-do the stupid chandelier over the kitchen table.
On the chandy beforehand was what looked like flying saucers to me. They were the light shades.
Remember the hammered metal paint?
I decided to fix that garishly gold chandelier once and for all.
My hubs actually painted it because I didn't want to take it down and because he's tall and stuff.
I also used some leftover fabric from the stool re-do and made a cover for the ugly cord and chain suspending the chandelier from the ceiling.
Because I thought about taking pictures of that process and wanted to stab my face off just thinking about more crappy crafty pictures...I didn't.
But here's the finished product. With new non flying saucer shades.
Moving on.
So have you seen these shades? They are regular mini blinds transformed into a roman(ish) shade. I always wanted roman shades.
So.
I called my mom. She's the mini blind expert. And by "mini blind expert" I mean that she can take em apart and put em back together and not mess em up.
Me?
Um. No.
Using this tutorial, we created this...
This is the kitchen window.
Trust me, the color is the same on both windows, but the sun coming in the window makes it look different in the pictures. Also I'm a crappy picture taker.
This is what I purchased the fabric for.
You know.
The fabric from the store where they lady yelled at us?
Yeah.
That one.
Guess what?
There wasn't enough fabric. (insert f-bomb here)
Oh, sure, there was enough if I wanted to cut and sew and cutandsewcutandsewcutandsew. But I didn't want to cut. And sew.
What to do?? I don't wanna go back to the evil fabric store!
Why, I have an idea!! I had 2 queen size flat sheets that were near the same color as the muslin I had originally purchased for this project. I don't have a queen sized bed and I wasn't going to use them so I ripped those babies outta the linen closet and did some mad scientist alterations.
They are definitely big enough to fit these shades without having to cut and sew cutandsewcutandsew.
Now they are transformed into shades.
Not just shades.
Roman(ish) shades.
Since I'm in a hurry to get this up here to show you all and then run away screaming from crafts, projects, glue, staples, fabric, and anything even relating to a stupid re-dos I'm showing you these before they are really finished.
I mean, yeah, they are finished...
but I will be putting a small valance up at the top of each because otherwise they look too plain. I also will be adding an embellishment of some sort, like ribbon or fringe or some crap.
Well...hmm.
I guess that's about it.
Except for a ginormously huge thank you to my mom for helping me with these damn stupid things!
Monday I will show you the bathroom re-do and then I promise no more stupid crafty stuff for a very, very, very long time.

Oh oh! LOVE! I need to make me one of those light-chain-cover-thingies! You've been busy girl!
I love your crafty re-do's even if they do make you drop the f-bomb 947 times!

you think up the coolest things! Wanna come here and redo the place?
So... how was your dear hubby able to spray the chandelier pieces without getting black flecks everywhere if you say you didn't take it down? I would think the spray would really spray...
BTW: Wow! I usually don't have enough energy to push the chairs in, much less paint them.
It all looks great!
LOVE them all. I especially like that you made your curtains out of sheets cause I make shit out of sheets ALL the time! Welcome to the club!
You should have went back to the fabric store and tell your boys to act like complete monsters, you know just for fun.
Love what you did with the light.
That SUCKS about the material, but I'm sure you have made it look fabulous. :)
I love the other projects too. Especially the stools!
Heh. I said stool.
[OMG] I lurve it all! You crafty little beeoch you!
Look at you on a roll with all your craftiness! Im going to working on a bunch of stuff next week, fingers crossed I actually get anything done.
Oh and I updated my blog to add for Fbomb..I think breaking my toe is fitting
Fabric + staple gun + 6 dining room chairs = INSANE amounts of F Bombs for me. I did that once...ugh...glad I didn't have kids yet. It was like I had Tourettes.
Awesome job regardless of the F Bombs. You are quite crafty!
I love the chandelier. That was a great idea.
Sheets work so well for large material projects. I really like the ideal of the roman shades made out of mini-blinds.
This is where I admit my insane jealousy. I wish I was crafty like you. I can swear and have a shit mouth like you but I lack the crafty gene.
wow, girl, you are crafty indeed!!! I love the barstools...I would've never thought to paint the legs black and then recover the stool with batting and material.
Love the chandelier too! I've been wanting to replace the one in our dining room....get this....because it's white and all our furniture and stuff is dark brown. Never occurred to me to paint the chandelier! OMG, I'm so lame sometimes!!!
I'm impressed with your talent!!!

Hi, Macey!
I can't believe that you took on Roman(ish) blinds...and won! I am so impressed! I also love the stools. Your method reminded me of what I did the one and only time I tackled any type of upholstery (on a custom headboard). Even though that worked out, I am not brave enough to tackle anything remotely circular. Your finished product looks awesome!
Well, I for one, have been LOVING your crafty posts! The shades look great! You'll need to post another pic with the vallances and embellishments...I ♥ embellishments. Everything looks super!
Hope you have a fab weekend!♥
Tess
You are slowly making your way around the entire house. You are so good at this.
You also made me realize that I have UFO lights also!
Looks great! Love the stools. This makes me want to paint something :)
You are practically Martha fing Stewart up in here.
Man!! You're awesome!!
Also, this gives me courage to do some home maintenance.
With fabric.
And thread.
And possible f-bombs.
You have been a busy busy girl! I love that hammered metal stuff... I need to find something to do just to use it, it looks super cool!
Okay, FIRST...holy crap lady! That chandelier redo is amazing! Also...I think I mentioned that you could send the made-over stools for my birthday present? And by stools I mean the bar stools. Not the other kind.
Way cool Roman-ish shades too. I am jealous that you can sew. I need those for my birthday too.
Never stop posting your crafty stuff...it's way too good!
They are all great. I guess the Bar stools look pretty neat.
You rock....
Is there anything you can't freakin' do? Do you make your own underwear and soap and stuff too?
You have done so much! It makes me tired just thinking about it.
I like your style, lady.
(You may as well...)
Your mom rules!!
I am so impressed!! Those are all awesome crafts!
When you get a second I have some projects for you...
That's it, next time we are out I'm going to start calling you Martha haha. Everything turned out great!! Your light fixture is amazing.
Fantabulous! I like the chandy's transformation the best. :)

Once again, you amaze me! I love love LOVE the blinds! All I've gotta say is...
