Water that muffin top down!

Today Shortmama wants to know:

So what are you drinking? Are you sticking to your healthy eating plan and drinking a ton of water? Do you got to have your iced tea? Or are you still sipping on the can of sugar soda?

Um. Well...?

This is going to be the most boring post evah.

Because really?

I'm drinking water.

My only trick is that I make myself drink two full 20 oz. cups before I let myself have coffee. And then I only drink one cup.

Why only one cup?

Because by that time I'm tired of running to the bathroom to pee!

Just ask anyone who calls me in the morning how many times they've went to the bathroom with me.

Well, okay, maybe don't. (jess, shut it. mmmm'kay?)

It's weird. Really weird. I've never, ever been able to get rid of the diet coke. Ever. And you may say, "Well, it's diet, hello, no sugar, it's gotta be better than regular, right?"

No. It's not.

Because it has sodium in it. And sodium can be a major jerkface because it makes you retain water.

Also, every once in a while I'll have a diet coke now and guess what happens??

Burp. Belch. Bloat. It's weird.

What's even weirder is I never meant to cut out the pop. I never meant to go strictly water. Maybe that's why it's so much easier for me to do...? Because I don't feel like I have to?

No idea. Sorry. I told you it would be boring here today!

Hey, one more thing though...if you don't ever drink alcohol and then you go out to dinner and decide to have a margarita on an empty stomach?

Notsogood.

Talking about weeners (hotdogs. get yer minds outta the gutter.), posing with fake mustaches and playing with dolls at the grown up table aren't something you really want anyone to see.

Not that I would know.

Nope.

Not me.

Go check shortmama out to see what everyone else is drinking! That sounds extremely funny to me right now. (how long does it take for one measly drink to go through your system, anyway?)

(sure hope this post makes some sense in the morning because i just re-read it and it sounds like blah blah blah to me. i dunno.)

oh yeah, and also, in the interest of staying accountable: my loss for last week was 1.4.
and! small victory was...? uh. oh. i know. when i got on the scale last week, i swear to everything cream filled that it made a gawdawful cracking sound. but it didn't break, so hey, that's something, right? oy.

If I had to consume 40 ounces of water in the morning BEFORE I got my coffee in the morning, all sharp implements would have to be hidden. You are a woman of great strength!

p.s congrats on the weightloss too. That is about 1 pound more than I lost this week. Aunt Flo is in town. The rest is history :(

Trying to quite Coke (the drink) is hard...I feel for you.

I drink a 28oz jug of water on my drive to work and the have 2 teas throughout the morning, along with a L of water. I get little work done because of all the trips to the washroom.

Speaking for salt alcoholics everywhere... sigh. I'm so jealous that you can give up on the sodium in diet coke!
The other day I drank watered down diet dr. pepper - tons of ice in each glass... and I got up 3 times in the night to pee like a race horse! So I made sure I ate some of my overly salted popcorn the next day. But I've decided to give popcorn up for a while and if I have to pee. ok... Maybe I'll lose a little weight before a wedding in August...

A) Bless you for calling it pop.

B) I cut pop out of my diet a few years ago (serious caffeine addiction) and exchanged it for one very strong cup of coffee in the morning. Now, pop makes my stomach feel like complete trash. I hate it.

C) You may not appreciate this, but I do the opposite of you. I have my coffee first thing and then switch to water for the rest of the day.

However, you're actually losing weight and I'm not so... keep up the good work!

I gave up coffee and only drink water all day long. If I drink 120 oz of water AND work out, I'll treat myself to a glass of wine. That's it for me and I dropped a size!

People don't realize that diet drinks can be just as bad for you as the regular drinks. I've been trying to drink lots o' water too...but you know I have to have my coffee! It's a must!

That's a good idea and I always say I want to drink a full glass of water before all meals. Thanks for the reminder yo.

I love my coffee though. Keeps me regular and who doesn't love a nice coffee shit?

I'm trying to up my water intake right now. I seem to just fill a big water bottle around dinner time and keep re-filling it. Great idea until 1am when I'm waking up to pee. Ugh. Need to just drink it, slowly, throughout the day....

Good for you, Chica! Roon's overtime has totally screwed up my no soda kick. Since I don't drink coffee, I need SOMETHING to help wake me up in the early morning time!

When I was pregnant my doctor told me Diet soda was worse than regular soda...I don't know why she told me this as I didn't say I drank diet soda...I am not a fan...I am a fan of coffee...I have to have 3 cups a day or I can not function...Good job on the 1.4 lbs!

I'm purposely cutting out soda right now and it feels good. Now, the lattes... I'm missing those. Still drinking coffee (2 cups in the morning).

Oh, and, you crack.me.up with that mustache and doll at dinner. Now, I feel lame for not crashing the Charlie Party.

Good for you on drinking (ALL THAT) water and the weight loss. It took me a long time to drink water and not soda all day long. Nighttime is still reserved for wine though.

I pee all the time. My bladder is like the size of a walnut.

I've started drinking more water. I can't keep living off of Diet Coke. I guess. And I've heard drinking a ton of cold water burns calories. I have to start first thing in the morning, too. If I don't I won't drink nearly enough. But yeah, I pee a lot.

I just belched GOOD JOB at you. Didja hear me?

I am on again off again with Diet C. I sometimes gotta have my C...ya know...I neeeeed it. But, I gave up coffee and have this bark tea that tastes like bark in the morning, and it totally makes me pee like a racehorse.

It is really hard for me to cut out my diet pepsi, I have to have at least one a day.

Ive been making strides on the water lately...meaning this week. I decided not to weigh myself this week though. Because Im hoping that after a week of nonstop peeing that I will see some weight loss. Here hoping anyway

Congrats on your weight loss. Getting rid of Soda can be hard. I drink a lot of it. Maybe, I should consider having a full glass of water before every meal.

I dont really drink a lot of soda, I'll have a diet dr. pepper once in a while. Im a huge iced tea drinker though. NO sugar though, just straight. Thats okay, right? Oh, that Crystal Lig@t stuff is pretty good too.

I'm drinking an Iced Mocha right now while eating a chocolate toffee bar. WHAT both are ORGANIC! So they say. Yeah I'm so off the WAGON. Start back tomorrow, then again i've been saying that for two weeks. HLPE.

I think 40 oz of water would stop me from drinking anything. I get so annoyed with the bathroom thing. Seriously, I find it one of life's greatest letdowns.

Girl, the only thing I'm good at is drinking the water! I down tons of water, seltzer, flavored seltzer (no cals) and unsweetened fresh brewed iced teas - caff and decaff. I water it down though!

Good for you with the small victory! I'm so over soda. I was addicted to Coke Zero and can't even look at it now. I love the way water tastes!

water, water, water. i don't drink any kind of soda - used to, but haven't in over 2 years. i like an occasional sweet tea - i'm from GA so i pretty much bleed sweet tea.

oh, and then there's the oat sodas...beer has water in it. and aren't you supposed to have a butt load of grains a day??? i'm just sayin'.
