Also? I'm pretty sure that we need to remain anonymous in the entire area of NW Washington. They should never have any proof that we were the ones who...*ahem*; what was I saying? Where am I? Oh. Never mind.
Alright, alright, you got me. I'm just kidding. Jessica and I are always perfect angels. Swears.
First off, we got lost. Yeah, I know. You head north, head west, and head north again. Simple. But you know what? My phone has GPS and that Sprint Navigator slut lied to us. That's probably a story for another day.
Second, we were surprised by the green. I mean, we live in Oregon, where it's green, but something about the green up there was different. It was green green. Dense and lush and very beautiful. There's even a rain forest about 30 miles from Forks. The only rain forest in the continental United States.
This is the sign on our way out of the rain forest. Yeah. We came back out because a couple miles in they wanted 15 bucks to drive through it and that was a deal breaker for us. Why? Because a) we're cheap and b) we weren't going to pay to drive through a rainy bunch of trees. We'd been doing that all weekend. And will continue to do so for the next 9 months, here in Oregon.
Here are the highlights of the trip, in pictures. Beware: Picture Overload!!
And, just in case you are thinking we were weird for actually making a trip to a town over 300 miles away to celebrate the Stephenie Meyer/Bella's Birthday Weekend?? Look at this map. The pins represent every place in the world people have come from to visit. So there.
Welcome to the Forks tour, MiMi style.
We went to the treaty line and beyond to La Push...Jacob's home turf. Rawr.
Jacob helped to navigate.
Srsly, look at how dense and green that is. There was also lots of low lying clouds covering the mountains. That is actually a ginormous mountain hidden in clouds in the background. In some areas the trees were even closer to the road and seemed to hover over you. In the rain forest? They actually leaned over the road and made a canopy.
Probably the saddest part for us was that we went to La Push for the bonfire on First Beach. (remember in the books where Bella goes with Jacob and they sit around the bonfire and listen to indian legends? yeah, they were doing that.) When we got there it was raining so hard they had to relocate the storytelling into the community center on the reservation and nix the bonfire altogether. Sads!! We watched a little bit of native dancing and then blew that popsicle stand for The Twilight Lounge where The Mitch Hansen Band was playing. They are sort of like a Twilight band. They write songs that surround the characters in the books.
Of course we brought Jacob along...
We only stayed for a few songs as there were no seats. Also, we wanted to get back to the motel so we could watch New Moon. Yeah, so? We brought our Twilight movies and watched em. So sue us. It was fun! We could pick out parts of the movie that were places we had seen in La Push and on the road.
We took the Dazzled By Twilight Breaking Dawn tour of Forks and they showed us the places that inspired the locale and buildings in the books. See, in case you don't know already, the films weren't filmed in Forks. The books were based in Forks and Stephenie spent a lot of time touring the town and area to base the story on. So the places we saw were what were in the books and then inspired the movie places. The places we saw were not in the movies. They filmed elsewhere. Jerks.
We went to Dr. Cullen's office.
We were arrested by Charlie.
(gotta love that 'stache.)
We went to Chez Swan.
We saw Jacob Black's house. Swoons. This may or may not have been why we were arrested by Charlie. You decide. My lips are sealed.
We then went to First Beach, where you see Jacob and Bella walking a lot in New Moon.
Can't remember what that island out there is...something important to the Quileute Tribe.
(seems like i should have paid better attention since i will be mrs. black one day. shoot.)
Saw Bella's truck.
(i noticed there was more than one. i saw another one downtown by the shops.)
Ate at Sully's. The diner was featured in all of the books!
Jessica ate the Bella Burger which came with a little set of fangs!
We shopped. A lot.
The inside of Dazzled By Twilight looks like the Fork's area forests.
They even have look-alikes wandering around the store and the town! Look at Edward...
(yeah, yeah, i know it's not the best picture, but we were feeling shy and didn't want to get our pics with him. also, there was a lady there and i had to cut her out. sorry.)
Get this:
There was a Jacob look alike wandering around DBT; I refused to take his picture. Why? Because he was like 17 or something. Which, I know, that's really close to Jacob's age, right? But the thing is, that in real life?? It seemed stalkerish and creepy and pedophile-ish to try to hump his leg get his picture. Go figure.
We went to Port Angeles because a lot of stuff happened in PA in the books! This is the restaurant that Bella and Edward ate at in Twilight.
The Port Angeles movie theater where Jacob wants to kill Mike Newton.
Okay, girls, this post is getting obnoxiously long, so I'll finish up (maybe) tomorrow, okay?? I mean, I will post on Forks tomorrow. But I don't know if I'll finish! Ha! Okay, I'm just rambling now. Sorry.
Also: I'm announcing the winners of the CSN Stores and Lemon Drop Studio giveaways tomorrow!

So the REAL reason behind your trip comes out! I didn't know Forks was the location location of the movie... The green is more beautiful on the other side of the fence. no? I'm enchanted by hills, trees and fields in other states.
Forks reminded me of some stand up of Steve Martin...
"The other night I was home, doing horrible things to my cat with a fork."
LOL. That map! You are kidding, right?????? And I pictured Sully's as a much classier joint.sigh.
Jacob on the dashboard...priceless.
Souvenir giveaway in the future?
I LOVIE LOVIE LOVIE!!!! Thank you so much for being so thorough with your picture taking! First Beach looks cold...and breath-taking. I've heard from the Twilight Lexicon ladies that the wind blows a lot there...and it's really rainy. I love that pic of Billy/Jacob's house!...w/ the motorcycle out by the mailbox, that is classic! I can't wait to see the rest!!
Tess♥
I LOVE IT! I LOVE ALL OF IT!!! It sounds like you guys had such a fab trip and I'm glad you had tiny Jacob along to navigate for you. One day I will visit that place. I HAVE to.
I love the map with all the pins!
How funny! I love that Jacob was along for the ride! You go on with your fun-loving self!
I love you.
I love you.
Well, you know I was already here once today, but I had to come back for another gander.
WTH, JK? Gander. Seriously. Did you just use that word?
Oh, great. Now I'm talking to myself.
Ahh...sounds like SO much fun! I'm jealous. So were there a boatload of people there for Bella's bday?
BTW, I read a really good paranormal young adult novel that was kind of Twilight-ish. It's called Beautiful Creatures. You might like it.
It was seriously beautiful (and that is coming from a gal who lives in beautiful Oregon).
Navigator slut?!!?
Is that the reflection of a tour bus in Dr. Cullens window?
Does Bella eat burgers? I thought she more of a salad girl? Plus in Twilight they ate at home most of the time and Bella cooked, total book to movie crap!
Hump his leg!!!!!
Great recap of a wonderful weekend!
MIMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO jealous! the trees are gorgeous! I want to come to oregon so bad. in your words, sads. i live on the other side of the flippin' country.
I wonder if the locals love all of the tourism or hate it. I am sure store owners like it but I wonder about everyone else. Where did they film the movie then? And yes I am jealous
OK I have a mildly stupid question..were all those places there before Twilight? Like the Bella restaurant?
I had no idea that Forks even really existed until you said you were going..lol.
Love. These. Pictures.
That is all.
Aaaaaaahhhh. I get it now.
(Still haven't read Twilight. I keep saying I need to but I'm so lazayyy.)
Those navigator sluts are so untrustworthy. Mine's an AT&T version and her whore ass told me that a bookstore was down this cul de sac full of houses! I'm still pissed.
You live in Oregon? That's far. Like, real far.
SQUEEEEE! I don't even know what to say - other than that I am completely consumed with jealousy and I want to kill you in a horrific vampire way. AND YOU HAVE A POCKET JACOB?? WTH? Oh - and that 'look alike' looks NOTHING like my Edward :) Not even close. Le Sigh. :) Really - I am so so so giddy right now with happiness that you went there - I'm second hand happy for you!
I want to go just to see the green trees...and the Jacob look alike...Im like totally only 16.
Hahaha...looks like you girls had such a good time.
LOVE all the pics. I wish I could have seen the Jacob look alike though!
I wonder if all the locals love all the buzz, or hate it?
I'm so jealous! I want to fly to your house and go on a twilight weekend. That seems sooooo awesome

Did you purposely plan it around the birthday celebration? How do you even find out such information?! I swear you had to have been right with my mom. I haven't talked to her about her trip details yet, but I know she had been planning to go to hear the Quileute legends too. That would make me even more jealous of my mom, if she not only got to go to Forks, but also be in the same room as you!!!
OMG! I so want to go. I would have taken pictures of anything and everything including weirdo strangers.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
How cute.. and I love the pictures. I love that you brought your Jacob doll.. I took my robbie williams doll all over England.
xx
So cool...It looks so beautiful there...It is cool the town is embracing the tourism too...
Ok so you know I don't know what any of this stuff is about but OMG I am totally jealous! It sounds like so much fun & I was laughing at all your descriptions. Serious out loud laugh at the Sprint Navigator Slut and the hump his leg comment. You just freakin crack me up!
I love how much this town has embraced it all and how much they're willing to play along.
But seriously, where was Charlie? How am I supposed to sleep tonight knowing that he wasn't really there?
Totally jealous! It looks liks so much fun.. I'd love to go sometime!
Great pics! Thanks for sharing your awesome trip to Forks! Loved it!!! :)
OMG, LOVE it!! So jealous that you went. I want to go. Love the pics though, thanks for sharing your trip... er.. part of it with us!! :)
