Liked It, Pinned It, Did It: Lego Birthday Party!!

As promised, here's the post for the Lego Party Extravaganza! I'm linking up with Ma Nouvelle Mode's new meme...

isn't it fabulous? How many things have you done lately because of ideas you get from Pinterest? It's amazing that even one year ago, or actually, even 4 months ago I wasn't really paying much attention to my Pinterest account and had no clue the awesomeness you could get there!

I was able to plan, purchase and create almost every piece of the party because of ideas I found on Pinterest. I kept the things I pinned to actual things that I thought I could do. No use setting myself up for a fail right out of the gate, right?

Without further ado...Lego Party 2011!

The inspiration:

I took this idea and put my own twist on it:
Notice the apothecaries with Legos in them. I thought that made a nice statement and used stuff I had on hand. And. They're all contained so no stepping on the little widow makers!

The inspiration:

I didn't actually make these. I ordered them here.
The inspiration:

You can see these are slightly different. I didn't add the Lego heads to the straw and I made 6 cog Legos instead of 2. I still love how they turned out!

The inspiration:

As you can see, I cheated on the cupcakes too. I ordered these Lego candies here.

And here they are on the cupcakes. I think they look adorable. One of the "games" the kids played was to take a handful of Lego candies and see how tall of a tower they could build. The one with the tallest tower that didn't tip over got a prize.

The inspiration:

Birthday's aren't complete unless you send the children home with a bunch of
crack in a sack, aka, candy and goodies!

Inside these little cuties was an assortment of candies and those adorable Lego crayons!

The inspiration:

On Saturday, his actual birthday, we had family come for cake and ice cream.
Here's my take on the Lego cake:

The inspiration:

My Lego games did not turn out as cute as the ones I pinned, but they worked and they were games that I

wouldn't have thought of on my own. I'm just not that creative.

The inspiration:

These little boxes came from the Printable Party Pack. There were many things you could tweak and print off for decor, invites, etc. I chose these simple boxes that you print, cut, fold and glue as treat boxes for when one of the kids won one of the party games. Inside them were snack size candy bars.

All in all, the party was a great success! Fun was had by all and when it was done I felt like I was hit by a Mac truck. That's good, right?

That is so awesome! I want a party pak. I wonder what was inside them!

I really, truly think you did an outstanding job with all this. The cake with the boobies? AH no the cake with the six round pegs to make it look like that lego piece? Fantastic!

Wow Mimi! I am super impressed! I mean, I know you're creative but WOW! You took a lot of time to make this party extra special. Well done! I loved it all. How was the cake? I'm craving some cake right now. Or I'd settle for one of those cupcakes.

I need to get on there and get some ideas for Emma's bday party. I need more time in my day.
