I Was a Brat

This Saturday is my husband's birthday. So this week I'm taking a cue from Impulsive Addict and I'm going to tell you about our story.

I don't talk about him much on here because, well, he hates it. But I don't care; it's my blog and I'll do what I want to.

And I can't tell you his name. Or probably even use pictures. But I hope to paint a picture with my words. And it ain't gonna be pretty!

Don't expect our story to be normal. Hey. It's me. MiMi. Your resident weird-o who will, in true MiMi fashion, irritate amuse you.

We actually first met in 1993. Or 1994. Lemme think...I'm gonna go with '93. Whoa. We've known each other for almost 20 years. We're so old! Maybe I should stop this right here and not think about when we were younger and cuter.

Get this...we met in driver's ed. Hahahahahaha!

And. I was super nice to him. Okay. Maybe not. See, he sat there all, "I'm too cool to talk to you, even though you're super hot and I should fall over my tongue to say 'hey,' but instead I'm going to ignore you."

So I did what any normal annoying person would do. I made fun of him.

"Haha, you probably think you're awesome because you're the youngest kid in driver's ed, don't you? You look kind of like (fill in the blank with some geek at school); are you really shy or are you always this rude?"

I believe that was the last interaction we had until about 6 months later. I was working at a crappy little hamburger place in town and his best friend came in to interview for a job. He didn't get it. This other kid who was the boss's neighbor got it. But, because he was a loser, he never showed up for his first day.

Hub's best friend got hired by default. Then said friend told hubs to come in and interview because we needed another person.

I distinctly remember telling my boss, "That guy is a nerd. He doesn't talk. He'll never be able to do it." Or. You know...something along those lines.

And because my boss always took my concerns very seriously and loved me so much...the jerkface went and hired him.

So, now, here I am working with this dude who I made fun of pretty mercilessly for that one day, at least.

Can you say, AWKWARD?

Stay tuned...

I soooo wish you could post pictures!! And my husband hates it to, when I talk about him. I try to keep it to a minimum and I might have to stop using his name since I had a bunch of hits from searches of 'lavar simmons' Weird! I am so looking forward to the sequel!

I want pictures. If not of him at least of you in your work uniform. I'll bet there was a hat involved.
C'mon. I'll bet you have at least one.

Looking forward to hearing more. My hubby doesn't enjoy being on the blog either. But too bad for him. ;) Oh and if it makes you feel better I wasn't really nice to my hubby when we first starting dating...not much has changed either. ha ha.

HA! Loving the beginning!

And I have always been a little curious about your Hubs since he rarely appears on your blog. MacGvyer goes back and forth between acting like it's "our" blog and telling me he hates it and I should shut it down.

Whatever.

Can't wait to hear the rest.

That is so funny!

I would never have married any of the boys in my driver's ed class. They WERE geeks.
