Let me give you a tiny bit of background here.
My in laws were recently in town for my husband's birthday. While taking a break from our general mayhemor really just sitting on our butts in layman's terms we happened to all be watching the TV when a commercial for Breaking Dawn came on.
It showed a lot of scenes with the wolves and my FIL says, "I wanna see that."
Cue my husband's look of utter shock and horror and my MIL's eye roll.
This is where I step in and make a lame offer of "taking one for the team" and taking him to the movie. You know. I didn't want to deprive him of seeing this movie.
So as I'm sitting here laughing atmy FIL the situation, I text my sister in law who couldn't come but was at home in northern California.
Following is the exact text messaging that took place:
Me: Your dad wants to see Breaking Dawn. Hahahaha! I should make him go with me and bring some squealing girls.
Her: LOL That's funny that he wants to see it...you should totally go! This reminds me of how much he loved the Spice Girls...
(screeeeeeeeeeeeech. wait up. stop the train. hold the phone. wha....??!!)
Me: OMG.
Her: I think he even saw Spice World hahahaha.
Me: OMG! U realize this is SO getting blogged about. Too freaking funny.
Thus ends the conversation that still cracks me up. To this day. Okay, it was only a month ago, but trust me, next year at this time, I'll still be laughing.
How I love that crazy, whacky, evil genius of a father in law!
Spice World. I wonder if he has that movie in his DVD collection? Bam! I'm thinkin' Christmas present!

Oh that's hilarious. Looking back I can see why he liked the Spice Girls, ha ha ha. I love Twilight too so I can't judge too harshly, lol.
he went to see it totally for Ginger Spice!
That is too funny. Ok, I'll admit I loved the Spice Girls too.
hahah love this!
My husband likes The Spice Girls AND Lindsey Lohan.
*connie shakes her head*
I LOVED THE SPICE GIRLS!!! What's wrong with that???

"If you wanna be my luvah...."
L.O.L.
Oh the creative genius that was the Spice Girls! How I miss them! ;O) Now all we have is Justin Beiber and that girl from Wizards of Waverly Place. It's just not the same...
LOL! You should SO get him that for Christmas! Or at least a poster...
You do realize, he's serious about going to Breaking Dawn with you.
Reminds me of when my in-laws saw "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure". Afterwards they said it wasn't as good as they thought it was going to be... And how good did you think from judging by the commercials???
hehehe I would have been shocked too. Matter of fact, my mother sheepishly said to me "I kinda wanna see that...." about Breaking Dawn after condemning the first two movies!
That would make a great (and very entertaining for everyone watching) present.
You couldn't pay my husband, father or father in law to see that movie. I am sure your FIL is a wealth of material for your blog.
Totally giggling as I read this post Mimi. I always thought only elementary school little girls like Spice Girls but I guess not. LOL.
Okay here I was thinking your FIL was so amazingly cool but Spice World- wow. Well he keeps thing fun right? :)
Come on...didn't everyone love Spice Girls? ;)
You know I think Victoria is skinnier now than she was then - YIKES!
i now need to go find my spice girls cd. and figure out what brennan has done to max to make her cry consistently for the last fifteen minutes.
You could buy him some Spice Girls Barbies from Ebay!
Hahaha!! That's pretty hilarious, actually. ;)
So, now do you just quote spice girls lines all day to him or what?
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want.
Oh wow...that is hilarious. And when will our families learn that they will totally get blogged about?? Hopefully never. ;)
PS... you know it...but you've been tagged!
