Resolutions? No thanks.

Happy 2012, y'all!

I see everyone scurrying to create some unattainable resolution lists, to which I firmly stand in my laziness and say: I don't do resolutions.

First, like I said, I'm too lazy. Second, I'm simply setting myself up for failure. C, I like to be spontaneous. And 4, I can't keep my lists straight. Did I number or letter it? Maybe I should use bullet points. I love bullet points.

Anyweirdness.
  • 2012 = Election year. Holy mudslinging commercials, Batman. They are already obnoxious and now it will be worse.
  • I'm working with another awesome blogger (notice i said "another." cuz i'm awesome too, yo.) to set up a fun new "club" that you all can be part of! And when I say, "I'm working with," I really mean, she's doing most of the work and I'm just saying, "Yep, that works. Oooooh, I like that. Good job! Yes, let's do that!" See the above paragraph where I said I'm lazy.
  • I was out of town last week. Did you notice? I only scheduled one post. I didn't figure people would be blog hopping much anyway.
  • Christmas was great.
  • In bed by 10:30 on NYE. I'm such a partier! Or is it partyer?
  • Need prayers for my brother, please. He needs relief from some pretty significant pain caused by degenerative disc disorder. The Dr's and insurance have screwed around enough with timing that he has gotten drastically worse in a very short amount of time and it's probably beyond repair.
  • Looking forward to meeting up with more blogger friends in 2012!
  • Continuing my weight loss journey. I will kick it in the ass this year and quit just maintaining. Just is a misnomer...it's damn hard to maintain, y'all.
  • Continue on to use y'all at least three times in this post even though I'm not from the South and don't have a drawl but love to say it.
  • I ate roughly 39 Hershey's kisses (in one day) and 3 pounds of Chinese food (in one day) and every other naughty thing you can think of last week. The week before I was really good though! **swear**
  • They say don't worry about weight gain over the holidays. On average, most people only gain 1-2 lbs. Well, I'm not "most people" and I'm not average. I bet I blow that 1-2 lb mark to crap and back! Go me.
Well. That was thoroughly invigorating, wasn't it? So much easier to read bullet points, right?

Also, if you didn't get a Christmas card from me it was because I didn't get around to my "second round" cards the week before Christmas. I'll give more details about why I didn't get around to them and what they even are later this week.

So, how have you all been? I mean, "How have y'all been?"

btw: what would you do if you caught a fat, old man who dresses funny sleeping in your children's room on Christmas Eve? Call the cops? Or snap that picture.

this site is awesome.

Happy 2012! I made some cheesy goals I know I wont keep :) I am lazy like that too.

I'm not much into resolutions either. I do love me a list of goals, but then I'm not going to beat myself up if I do not reach them. {Also, I say y'all a lot}.

So glad you had a nice Christmas, and got to get away. Will say a prayer for your brother. No one should have to live in pain like that :(

I went to bed at 9:30 on NYE. I'm old!!!

Y'all.

I never make resolutions either. I don't have any willpower. I stayed up till 2 am on NYE...wait for it...reading. I'm THAT exciting. (Also, I drank too much caffeine that night and couldn't sleep.)

I want to be in your club! Unless it involves reading Jane Austen or drinking Dr. Pepper. Or if there is a fee. Because we broke.

I will avert my eyes from your wild use of y'all without the southern drawl to back it up if you give me something very midwesterny to say that I have no business saying.

I actually lost weight over the holidays this year, but mostly because I was sick right after Christmas. Usually I gain plentiful amounts!

I think I was in bed right around the same time you were. I have nothing to give new year's eve anymore!

Your club sounds fun, especially since you get to be a lazy partner of it!

You ARE the awesome-ist blogger! Happy New Year!

I hate resolutions, which is why I call mine goals. They don't feel as definitive that way, much more achievable. Different words with basically the same meaning, shouldn't make sense, but it does to me :)

Also, I can't stand election year. I never feel like I actually learn about the candidates, and obvis there's some discontent with the last election and people feeling they were lied to, soooo....

Let's drop our weight this year! We can be in bikinis by summer...or not...LOL

Also...you should make a resolution to spend more time with your lovely friend. ;-)

Prayers for your bro. :( That stinks.

I didn't want to do resolutions either because I hate to fail and like I said, I peter out pretty quick so resolutions don't last long over here. But great bullet points! I read every one! :)

I've done resolutions in the past. By "done" I mean, I made them. Then I forgot what they were. So I'm not sure if I actually did them or not. Pretty sure not, because one of them had something to do with running and after I hurt my back that went flying out the window. I've obviously got a great excuse...I love those. Here's to not make resolutions that me you (ME) feel like a total loser! Cheers!

That list is way more informative than 8 posts last week that no one would have read anyway. I'll keep your bro in my prayers. Happy 2012z

I didn't get around to the second round of Christmas cards either! and I don't do resolutions either- why set myself up to fail lol

I'm pretty sure "y'all" is not longer a southern thing - I think it's a blog thing. I say it all the time too.

I am a night owl - so I totally partied it up on NYE...but I had church at 9 the next morning - talk about brutal!!

I have some pretty big goals for this year. What is the difference between a goal and a resolution? Just wonderin'.

I totally appreciate the overusage of the word ya'll in this post. Now I feel right at home. :o)

Blech. I hate mudslinging ads. I feel motivated to vote for the person who produces the least amount of these during his/her campaign because they are just that ridiculous.

I don't do resolutions either. I've learned, after living 60 years, that I don't need that kind of pressure. I do, however, get all fired up about starting projects and hauling off crap at the beginning of the new year. I guess I kind of think about getting back to healthier eating too but then, that's significantly easier when the Christmas goodies are gone. Love your blog ... funny post.

Ha! You never fail to make me laugh.

I decided this year, my resolutions would be for my children. My daughter WILL be potty trained, and my son will lose his lisp. I am fine just the way I am. I don't need any improvements (I can say this because you have never met me in person and so can't say otherwise.)

Loved your post. You made me laugh. ooooh & the Santa pic is awesome!

McVal said...

LOL! Love that pic! I think the idea of an old fat guy sneaking around the house while you're sleeping is creepy enough!!!...
And I am SO glad today is the Caucus in Iowa! That means that the phone will stop ringing off the hook by tomorrow morning!!!!

Partier looks more gooder. :)

I wanna be in a club. Is it going to be awesome? Will there be a secret handshake?

I don't do resolutions either.

I didn't do resolutions--just GOALS. I'm hoping to complete my GOALS by December. We'll see. First up is shedding 30 pounds. I'm done with the fat rolls and cottage cheese ass.

So sorry about your brother's pain! Dieting and working out are things we start up again in January... Everyone knows that. :)
