Thanks

I just wanted to give you all a huge thank you for your prayers and well wishes this last week.

It's been harder than I would have thought if I'd have ever thought about it. Does that make sense?

Anyway, surgery yesterday morning went off without a hitch and Big Boy's arm is healing so well that they opted out of re-casting and put him in a splint instead.

We talked him into keeping his pins so he could show them to his class at school. Also, we probably paid thousands of dollars for those stinkin' things so we might as well have something to look at. Besides a healthy arm, if you're into that sorta thing. **wink**

We're able to remove the splint Friday evening and check out his surgical wound. Cool! Okay, maybe not cool, but I'm looking for silver linings where I can get em. Anyway. We can remove the splint a couple times a day and start moving his arm at his elbow very gently to get it workin' again. **eek**

AND! Best thing...he can shower without bagging his arm! Woohoo!

So thank you all for your prayers. They mean more to us than you'll ever know.

PS: No unpleasant bathroom situations. I know you wondered. Okay, fine, maybe you didn't, but I would have if I were you.

Oh yes, he definitely HAD to keep the pins. You should post a photo for us. :) Yes, I'm one of THOSE people, sorry. Glad to hear it is all going as well as it can. Still big hugs for you.

I'm so glad everything went well! It is scary and heartbreaking when stuff like that happens to your children and there is little you can do to comfort them.

I know exactly what you mean about it being harder than you could have ever thought it would be. That's kind of where we are right now. I am so glad that most of this is behind you. It's amazing what you can make it through. Just in time for a fun-filled summer!!!

That's GREAT news! Casting can be just as bad, with muscles atrophying and healing in tilted positions, so I'm super relieved that they're going to just a splint for him. Yay!

God is good. love love and more love coming your way...still.

will the pins be displayed with the mold of your teeth pre-braces?

you might want to get a fancy curio cabinet for this sort of thing.

;)

So glad things are going so well, a splint is so much better than another cast!

I am so glad your little guy is doing better and got the cast off after surgery. I love your pool pic above too. Recently I have been having sad thoughts thinking how quickly my boys are both growing. I watched the movie New Year's Eve last night and must have cried 4 times during it. I hope you have a great weekend. Hugs to you and the little man.
