Tomorrow is my Big Boy's birthday. He's going to be 9. I'll be able to add this post to this list of other birthday posts dedicated to my boy:

Wow. I've been blogging too long! Or he's getting older way too fast. I think it's the second one of the options.
Anyway.
How can I put into words what I feel for this little boy? The one that God let me have for a little while...to care for, to teach, to love. How can I explain that in fact, he's the one who has taught me more than I could ever have imagined.
He hasn't had the most spectacular year and I would do anything, give anything to take that away from him. Unfortunately that's not how life works.
Even through all of the ups and downs and worry and sometimes sadness that we have had this year...there is a deep and abiding joy that I have in my soul for him. An excitement and anticipation of the man he will become.
I love you, my boy.
And I hope tomorrow marks the beginning of a fabulous year for you.

Our kids have really close birthdays! Lexie's is in 14 days, and she will be 10. We will be in India, but I've scheduled sweet, sappy posts all week about her. ;o)

Awww, this is so very sweet. I feel the same about my Sierra. She has taught me so much about being a mama . . . about being me! Amazing how much they change us. I hope he has a very special day. And more importantly, a wonderful year!!!
That is a cute picture of your boy. Even though you said he was high, it doesn't matter because he looks happy and maybe a bit loopy, but kids are cute when theyre loopy!

I know what you mean about wanting to take the pain and disappointment from our kids. Hurts us so much more than anything happening to us could, doesn't it?

Turbo just turned nine. They are baffling, amazing creatures, these little boys hovering on the brink of adolescence. Still enough little boy to need mom to kiss a scrap, but big boy enough that he doesn't want any one to see it.
Happy Birthday to your boy. May time slow down and the growing be slow enough for us to enjoy it.
Oh I hope he has a wonderful birthday!! And yes, we are lucky to be moms and gifted some of God's children.
