I told you Friday in my What Utah Taught Me post about a little misunderstanding we I had about Beans & Brew.
When I first saw it I though, "Oh, that's weird...a place that brews beer??" See, this is my Oregon coming out... we have breweries everywhere here, so of course, my first thought was hops, beer, way expensive local beer.
The reason I thought it was weird is because, hello, we're in the Salt Lake area and I'm pretty sure most of the population doesn't drink beer. Am I right? I think I am. That's all that counts, anyway, huh?
Anyway, so sometime in the next couple days I think, "Oh, I'll ask Xazmin and her hubs what this Beans & Brew place is!"
Following is the conversation that ensued. (excuse me if you've seen this convo on FB, as myjerky lovely friend put it out for all our friends to see what a dumbsh*t i am.)
Me: Hey! We passed a Beans & Brew on the way in...what's that??
Jeremy: Coffee.
Me: Um...why would someone want beans with their coffee?? (seriously, thinking about baked beans, green beans...legumes in general.)
Myya: YOU IDIOT!!! Coffee beans!!
Me: Oh. Yeah. Duh. Guess that makes sense.
So. There ya have it.
In my defense I was thinking Beans & Brew meant like a barbecue place with baked beans, steak, beer, etc.
And also, in my defense, we were driving by at like 60 miles an hour and I couldn't see the small lettering saying COFFEE HOUSE.
Whatever.
Shut up!

bahaha you're a nerd :)
Hahahahaha! To freaking funny.
That is pretty funny!!!!! "Why would someone want beans with their coffee?" :o)
Don't you love it when your friends broadcast your blonde moments all over facebook? So thoughtful. :o)
Now that give me something to smile about this smoky Monday morning--thank you!
Hey man, I'll come to your defense! You wouldn't have thought of coffee if you figured the population wouldn't want beer...those people wouldn't be drinking coffee either ;) See?! Your brain makes sense, after all!
The Beans would have thrown me too. My coffee comes in little cups now.
I love your "moments" it makes for MANY entertaining times. :)
No words friend.. no words.
LOL!!! Um.. it's in the fine print...
LOL..cute
Lol! That is pretty funny. And yes a lot of people in Utah don't drink alcohol-- though the % of Mormons is less than it used to be
In 1981 I lived in UT for 18 months, working at Alta Lodge and learning how to ski...loved it...but SLC was an odd place...no liquor but a candy store every 20 feet...still, lovely...
OK, I of course knew it was a coffee house but that's because I saw the words coffee house written below. I'm still thinking I would have thought coffee house not brewery but I wasn't the one cooped up in the car with 3 dozen kids for 24 hours either.
I'm giving you a pass on this one!
That's really funny. I would have thought the same thing as you, and I am Mormon and have been to Utah many times! So who's the dork now!?
I thought BBQ beans and beer too. Maybe because those are a staple of summer here :D And to your defense that "coffee house" under the name is really hard to see. :)
Bahaha. That is all. And jerky? Really?
Hehe, beer. You are hilarious!
I would have had the EXACT SAME THOUGHT... b/c come on, who doesn't love beer and um, beans?
Okay, so maybe I'm with you on the beer.
BTW, LOVE your "work" over at Surfer Girl.
