Here's a letter I wrote to him when he turned 4. I remember those days with a sharp clarity and also with a joyous heart that I was able to be here with my boys, every day, and watch all of those milestones pass.

I'm blessed to be a stay at home mom. I never missed a thing. There were days I wished I had a sledge hammer to knock myself out with, sure, but I still wouldn't trade them for anything.

At 8:11 a.m., Saturday October 8th, 2005, you came skidding (literally) into this world and our lives have never been the same. Every day I thank God for gifting me with the responsibility of being your mommy.

shortly after you were born

last week at disneyland. it's straight out of the camera so you can see the camera strap, and the top of his head is cut off, but those eyes...oh, the eyes. i love the eyes of my little one. and the freckles. oh, the freckles! and the toothless gap in the smile!
